Consumer-grade UX inside a regulated fintech.

T H E  C H A L L E N G E :

The client’s design organisation had to ship at the velocity
of a tech-first fintech with the rigour of a regulated bank.
WCAG-AA accessibility was non-negotiable on every
customer-facing surface. The existing design system
needed extension for new product surfaces tied to BaaS
partners. Senior capacity was limited against a backlog
spanning web, mobile web and native mobile — and
coordination across UX, Development, Brand, Product and
Software Engineering added drag to every release.

We embedded a senior UX designer directly into the
client’s design team, reporting to the Head of Design. The
designer operated as a full team member — carrying work
from ideation to shipped product and extending the
existing design system as they went, so every contribution
compounded instead of creating one more thing to
maintain.

  • Delivered web, mobile web and native mobile designs
from ideation through final shipped product
  • Created UX mockups and prototypes in Figma against
the existing style guide and component library
  • Partnered with UX, Development and Brand so the brand
vision carried through every design decision
  • Collaborated with product managers and software
engineering on solutions that scale past one release
  • Iterated every surface to WCAG-AA accessibility
    specifications
  • Extended the design system with new scalable patterns
    now reused across product teams
